Saturday October 11th
Join Us at the Chief's College
This is an amazing opportunity for leadership development. It will run from 12:30pm to 5:00pm on Monday, October 13 and we strongly encourage each DO Emergency Residency Program to have representation from at least one of their Chief Residents. However, this program is not limited to just Chief Residents and is FREE for any DO EM resident interested in leadership development. Events will include:
-Speech by current Nevada State Senator Joe Hardy, who also happens to be a physician.
-Presentation by Darren LaCroix, world-renowned speaking coach and presenter who also happens to be the 2001 World Champion of Public Speaking. He will guide us to become more commanding speakers and presenters, and leave us with tools to help us dominate those presentations we are often asked to give to our fellow residents and colleges.
-Resume Workshop- This will start with a short presentation on resume writing by Nancy Ely, who has many years of experience in both recruiting and hiring EM physicians. This will be followed by a resume workshop, wherein there will be 4-5 people with tons of physician hiring experience who will be able to individually look over and critique your resumes. The hope being that everyone will have their resume looked at by at least two of our panel of experts. So be sure and bring updated copies of your resume!
-Free snacks and food during the event (but not lunch).
